Butterfly House

I can't believe it has been this long!

So I quickly realized that I have not been updating my blog! 7 months, really, how can it be? Well, I have no excuse because Delanie and I spent the entire summer at home together and should have been able to update. I will try again. Delanie is now 2 1/2 as of October and is a smarty pants if I do say so myself. She is great at counting, mastered her alphabet and letter recognition months ago, and knows words I didn't even realize she knew. Her favorite things to do are to read books, or pretend to read books, sing, and play outside. We went to the zoo and butterfly house a lot this summer.

Easter!

Well, we spent Easter at my dad's and Delanie had a blast. She got to skip her nap and also got to go outside for an easter egg hunt. I never would have thought that at age 2 she would have so much fun with that. She ran all over yelling "found it". As she put them in her basket we took them and hid them so she wouldn't be done so quickly. She was so excited. She was also a very good girl in church.

She will be 2 in less than 2 weeks and it is hard for me to believe. We are having cake this year. I am sure she will enjoy it as I don't usually let her have sweets like that.

She loves to sing twinkle twinkle little star while we are driving in the car, singing her alphabet, and counting to ten. She is working on counting to twenty, but still needs some work:) She also loves to wear her cowgirl boots grandpa and grandma Slaba got her for Christmas. She is growing so fast and we are enjoying every minute of it.

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas Eve and our plans have slightly changed for the holiday. We are still going to my dad's today since he lives right here in town. I don't know how many others will make it though due to the weather. Tomorrow we were going to Mitchell as Bruce's sister was hosting Christmas, but too many of us were coming from many different directions. Now my mom and Denny are coming over to our house Christmas day. I am excited to see Delanie opening presents as this will be the first time she has really done it. Have to find the video camera and get it ready. Since they say there is going to be a lot of snow, we got a sled and plan on bundling Delanie up and letting her go down the hill in the backyard a couple times. We will see how that pans out. The neighborhood kids have already begun to come over and sled I guess that is what you get for living on the corner with a visible hill in your backyard. Well, we hope everyone stays warm and safe for the holidays. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

18 Months

Merry Christmas!

Well, it is about that time of year again. Bruce, myself, and Delanie are snowed in today. No school, no work. It is very cold outside. So I decided to bake cookies and have a pajama day with Delanie. She is 20 months old now and we are enjoying her every day. She loves her "pretties", necklaces that is. She runs all over and still doesn't sit down much. She is taking after Bruce with all of her energy and all of her sleep! She really loves books, Dora, and Barney. She recently learned how to unzip her jammies and I have found her in her diaper in the morning. She seems interested in the snow and hopefully there will be a lot of snow over Christmas break and not to terrible cold temperatures. We want to take her sledding in the back yard. We hope you enjoy your holidays with family near by!

October Already!

Well, it is already October and I haven't done the best keeping up on this since I re launched by blog! Delanie is talking like crazy. She likes to repeat everything she hears. She repeats her whole alphabet with grandma. She is learning her manners too. Although please comes out like peas. We have had some sickness at our house. I guess that is to be expected when I work in two elementary schools. I have been out all this week. I have been blessed with the flu and Delanie has a bad cold along with one ear bothering her. Monday we went and got her 18 month pictures taken despite the sickness. She did fairly well, but we had a hard time keeping her in front of the camera. We will have to think of something different for a family picture because Bruce couldn't make it.

It is about that time of the year that I rarely see Bruce. Hunting, hunting, and more hunting. As soon as I get to see Delanie's pics, I will post a few for you to see.
